Operation Sindoor Fallout: India Responds to Pakistan’s Tall Claims
Amidst escalating post-Operation Sindoor narratives, Chief of Defence Staff CDS Anil Chauhan has firmly rejected Pakistan’s claims of downing six Indian fighter jets. In a bold and measured response, General Chauhan said the focus should be on correcting tactical shortcomings rather than engaging in a war of numbers.
“What is important is not the number of jets downed, but why it happened—and we’ve addressed that,” he emphasized during an interview at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.
This was India’s most assertive response yet after Pakistan claimed to have neutralised six Indian aircraft in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 tourists.
Operation Sindoor: India’s Precision Response to Pahalgam Attack
Operation Sindoor was a high-intensity military response to one of the deadliest terror attacks in recent memory. On April 22, 2025, terrorists ambushed a tourist convoy in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, triggering national outrage.
For the 2nd time in a day, CDS Anil Chauhan has acknowledged that India suffered losses and jets was/were downed.

In response, India launched a calculated, multi-domain offensive deep into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and across the Line of Control (LoC). The objective? Neutralise terrorist infrastructure with precision air and ground strikes—and signal a zero-tolerance policy against cross-border terrorism.
Pakistan’s Jet-Downing Claim “Absolutely Incorrect”, Says CDS Anil Chauhan
Pakistan’s military released doctored visuals and reports claiming it had successfully downed six Indian fighter jets. But General Chauhan categorically refuted those assertions.
“The claims are absolutely incorrect. We did suffer damage, but not on the scale Pakistan is projecting.”
He added that India has learnt from the tactical vulnerabilities exposed during the operation and has already rectified them.

“No Brink of Nuclear War”: CDS Anil Chauhan Calls Trump’s Claim Far-Fetched
In a surprising twist, former U.S. President Donald Trump recently claimed that India and Pakistan were on the verge of nuclear war during the four-day Operation Sindoor.
General Chauhan was quick to shut down the suggestion:
“These are far-fetched assumptions. There were backchannels of communication open throughout. The idea of a nuclear escalation was never on the table.”
He reiterated that India maintained restraint and professionalism throughout the military engagement.
Chinese Weapon Systems “Didn’t Work,” Says CDS Anil Chauhan
CDS Chauhan also responded to reports that Pakistan used Chinese-made missile systems during its retaliatory strikes.
“Their equipment didn’t perform as advertised. Some systems malfunctioned, others missed their intended targets.”
India, on the other hand, used its indigenous and imported platforms with pinpoint accuracy—striking hardened targets like airfields and terror launchpads across the LoC.
Focused on Strategy, Not Statistics
CDS Anil Chauhan’s remarks underscore a mature and professional military posture. While Pakistan seemed focused on projecting battlefield “numbers”, India has instead emphasised strategic assessment and operational improvement.
The CDS Anil Chauhan confirmed that any shortcomings observed during the multi-pronged operation have already been addressed to bolster future readiness. This comment reflects India’s adaptive and evolving military planning ethos.
Indian Air Force Achieved “Meter-Level Accuracy”
According to military sources, the Indian Air Force (IAF) executed strategic airstrikes with unprecedented accuracy during Operation Sindoor. From radar-jamming to beyond-visual-range missile use, the operation marked a technological leap in IAF capability.
“We hit defended targets with meter-level precision, penetrating even hardened bunkers. That speaks volumes of our readiness.”

India Combats Fake News With Official Fact-Checks
In the days following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan flooded social media with fake videos and misattributed photos claiming Indian losses. However, India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting swiftly debunked these.
From AI-generated crash photos to recycled footage from past conflicts, Pakistan’s disinformation campaign was systematically dismantled by India’s official fact-checking teams.
Peace Holding, But India Remains Vigilant
While the operation has concluded and there’s a ceasefire currently holding, CDS Anil Chauhan stressed the importance of being prepared.
“As of now, things are calm. But it all depends on how Pakistan behaves moving forward. India will always defend its sovereignty.”
General Anil Chauhan’s firm rebuttal of Pakistan’s exaggerated claims during Operation Sindoor reinforces India’s strategic clarity, military professionalism, and readiness to counter both physical threats and misinformation. By focusing on precision, transparency, and accountability, India not only showcased its evolving defense capabilities but also reaffirmed its position as a responsible regional power in the face of provocation.
